Cut Consultation
Three things to know before a layered-cut consultation
Think about where you want the layers to begin, how you usually style your hair, and what has felt uncomfortable in the past. These details help make the consultation more focused.

A layered cut is defined less by how many layers it has than by where they begin and how they connect. Bring references and explain how you tie and style your hair so the shape fits your routine.
1. How much layering do you want?
Long layers can feel very different depending on whether they begin near the jaw or below the collarbone. When choosing references, consider both the length and where you would like the shape to balance your features.
2. Be realistic about styling time
The cut and any perm recommendation may change depending on whether you use an iron every day or need the shape to form with blow-drying alone. Tell us early if easy maintenance matters to you or you are considering a perm.
3. Thick hair does not always need heavy thinning
Over-thinning can leave the ends much lighter than the roots and make the overall shape awkward over time. We adjust how much weight to remove based on texture, thickness, curl pattern, how often you tie your hair, and how you style it.
Helpful things to bring
Bring one or two images that show the look you want and one that shows what you would rather avoid. A photo of how you normally style your own hair is also helpful.
